We're excited to invite you to our location in downtown Rochester, Minnesota to float, sauna and more! Discover how great you can feel with two life-giving ingredients: salt and light.

First Off: What Is Float Therapy?

Float therapy involves spending time in a specially designed tank filled with water saturated with Epsom salt. The high salt concentration allows you to float effortlessly on the surface--really! The tank is dark with some soundproofing, creating an environment of reduced stimuli. This calm along with the feeling of weightlessness helps the mind and body enter a deeply relaxed state, feeling held and ready to heal.

People use float therapy to reduce stress, ease muscle tension, and improve sleep quality. Some also explore it as a biohacking tool to enhance creativity and mental focus.

The experience typically lasts from 60 to 90 minutes, during which the body feels unbound, and the mind can rest or enter meditative states.

How Do Float Tanks Work?

Float tanks are designed to create an environment that supports sensory deprivation and effortless floating. Here’s how they function:

Water and Salt Solution

The tank contains about 10 inches of water mixed with roughly 800 pounds of Epsom salt (magnesium sulfate). This high salt concentration increases water density, making the body to float without effort.

Temperature Control

The water temperature is kept close to skin temperature, around 93.5°F (34.2°C). This minimizes the sensation of water touching the skin, enhancing the feeling of floating in air.

Light and Sound Isolation

The tank is sealed to block out light and sound. This sensory isolation helps the brain reduce external distractions, promoting deep relaxation and mental clarity.

Filtration and Hygiene

Modern float tanks have advanced filtration systems that clean and sanitize the water between sessions. This ensures a safe and hygienic experience for every user.
